Obviously not following his uncle's advice, Woofus invested his life savings into an online Pet Supply startup and now he makes a living as a "Baton Fetcher" whenever there's a local parade with clumsy marchers. Australian Shepherds were actually developed as a breed in the American West. Their ancestors include dogs from Australia, and from the Basque country in Europe. Aussies come in four different color combinations of black, copper, gray and spotted, all with white markings. The spotted color is called Merle. Aussies have very strong herding and guarding instincts. During Gold Rush times in California, they were even used to herd ducks, geese, and rabbits! Best known for their large eyes and tall ears, the Chihuahua is the smallest breed of dog in the world and is named after the state of Chihuahua in Mexico, where it was discovered in 1850. Our Chihuahua (we call him Picaro) is 12 inches tall and 14 inches long.
